FaR = Feedback and Revisions
This class is different.
You will be have a hand in deciding your final grade each quarter.
You will need to prove to your teacher just WHY you deserve the grade you chose.
You will be jointly responsible (with Mrs. Kirr) for tracking your academic achievement and assigning a final grade for ELA class. There will be no points assigned to tasks and there will not be individual grades in the online grade book. I will provide ample feedback (much more than typical classes) on coursework, writing prompts, and classroom participation; objective assignments (i.e. multiple choice reading checks) may include a numeric score, but will not be entered in the grade book in a way that averages these scores. We will only use the most current evidence of your achievement.
Throughout each quarter, you will be required to keep track (digital, our notebooks / binders, or a blend) of all your work, including goals for improvement. Each quarter, you will prepare to share what you’ve learned so far in the quarter, and what your plans are as we continue. Based on my feedback and your honest evaluation of your quality of work, we will assign a final grade together. This process will include considerable reflection.
The following categories will be taken into account: quality of writing, performance on reading comprehension checks, independent reading at home, class participation and preparedness, daily engagement in content, and the use of feedback to improve performance.
The following tabs are here to help guide you!
Under each subtab, you will find specific ways in which you can show your learning.
