For the last two weeks, we've been mixing in brain science with Genius Hour. We went on a virtual "quest." Students had to find out what was wrong with their brains after they were in a mock bus accident. We read from Oliver Sacks' The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat, and used the evidence to compare to our "symptoms." We ended these two weeks with Career Day (which has nothing to do with brain science, but it's a staple of seventh grade)! Our Genius Hour celebrations will be coming more frequently now that we're in the home stretch, and you'll find information on this page of our Weebly.
We had a great visit in block 5/6 - Mrs. Marsicek came in to give a book talk on The Wishkeeper by Maximillian Timm, and then she connected us with the author via a Skype visit! Photos are on this page of the Weebly. This half hour was time very well spent, as children were able to ask myriad questions to someone who loves to read and write! More photos from parent visits are located on the "Celebrations" page of our Weebly. :)
Thank you to our photographers - Erin R., Evan, Sukriti, Sriman, & Ashly. Enjoy your week in the sunshine! Let's get everyone healthy this next week so we can have a beautiful fourth quarter!
