The past two weeks, we've been working on our speaking skills - volume, rate, gestures, and poise. We put them into action in tiny presentations for Teach Me Your Talent this week. (All of our plans for each day are kept onour Class Notes - check here any time for more clarification.) We also had some fun with March Picture Book Madness! We'll figure out the Finals when we come back from break.
The week we come back, we'll be asking your child to write a "pitch" for their genius hour project - this will be one they stick to for fourth quarter. All information is here. We'll also be taking one day to get acquainted with the PARCC test format on the computers. This should help with any questions students may have about how it will be administered.
If your child is in block 9/10, reflections on quarter three grades are due ASAP (now). I can then discuss with your child any differences we may have prior to grades being put on progress reports.
Please encourage your child to read over break. There are myriad reasons why - and it will help everyone when we write - reading and writing work so well together. Thanks so much for your assistance!
Enjoy your spring break!
