As we hold on for the ride, I wanted to let you know that some of your children are published authors! Check out this tab of our Weebly to see what they're submitting.
Most of these two weeks centered around our whole-school novel, Ghost, by Jason Reynolds. We've been experimenting with different types of writing, sketchnoting, and, of course, predicting what we think will happen. We hope to finish the book next week. My other focus was to meet with each child to discuss the final grade that needs to be put in the grade book. Some seventh graders are very reflective, and some will benefit from more practice. If - at any time during the school year - you feel that your child would benefit more from having points and marks in the gradebook during the quarter, simply let me know. (It's actually easier for me, even if I think they don't work as hard or complete as many revisions to improve their learning.)
