We've been reading short stories like crazy! Students were able to choose from twelve stories and fifteen different activities to show their reading comprehension skills. The choices were easy for some students, and some students still need practice managing their time. If they didn't get this completed within thirteen school days, they can do some for homework or come in after school. It's been great to see their "aha moments" as they read certain stories, and also to see them understanding a couple of difficult stories they're reading on their own.
The next two weeks, we'll (hopefully) be having fun. Check with your child to ask what they're considering teaching us! Each child will have four minutes to teach a skill or a talent to us. We'll be able to present four times to small groups (4-6 people). The goal is to encourage students to bring their outside interests IN to the classroom. We'll be inviting you soon!
