Science fiction - tough for some, because the all the answers aren't there... but that's why other students LOVE it! Ask your child if s/he can explain "ghost chapters" to you, since these ghost chapters affect how we understand what we read. In the last two weeks, we read many short stories (see the Science Fiction page), read one screenplay, and watched the short movies that went along with the stories (when possible). We also took a difficult test (hopefully harder than an ISAT test) which will not be used in the class grade, but is being used to learn about close reading. Genius Hour is in full swing, and we've had a few presentations this month, as students are finishing some projects and want to begin others.
Check our our celebrations page - Sydney did well on her violin solo (which we listened to while diagraming compound sentences), and we have many more books for the classroom!
Check out our Book Talks & Read Alouds page as well - we've had book talks from Julie Jergens & your children! :)
