On our first full day of class, we got to know each other through this poem by Judith Viorst. We first listened to the poem (recited dramatically by Mrs. Kirr), then we analyzed the structure of the poem. We then spent awhile brainstorming our own version of the poem and the collaborating on what we'd want in our class version. Here are the results!

On Friday, we shared good books (see our book talks and read-alouds page), and also the character traits of the main characters in Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie. We then spent a period creating our first bulletin board - of our own character traits. See the quick movie of our week here on Animoto.
