We started the Red Scarf Girl pilot these two weeks - one more week to go. During the activities, we read portions aloud in class, analyze them for close reading, and then write about them. There is a lot of reading that we try to give time for in class, but it's not always possible. If something seems wrong or the activities do not go well, I give feedback on a daily basis to the company who created the material. I also inform them of what went well and what I modified to help it work better in our classes, as well. We did make some time this Friday to share books we've read, and will try to get back to independent reading at the end of this unit. Grammar will just have to wait until January!

Come Visit!Simply email me to come into class. We'd love to hear book talks (suggestions for good books) or picture books (read aloud by YOU). We hope to see you in class this year!
