During one of our Genius Hour days, we created heart-break maps... We will act more on what bothers us, so we needed to talk about what breaks our heart about what we love. The hope is that this will inspire students to read books or articles about what they love and how to help make it better. During writing time, we worked on our narratives - creating atmosphere, leads, focus, showing, then choosing a final prompt and doing it all again. If students didn't let me know they were finished with their final "polished piece" this week, they should be finished by Wednesday.
Our big day was the Global Cardboard Challenge last week Friday. For the video, see the Celebrations page! Another celebration: Joe recorded the speech he composed in Genius Hour. Find that on our new page under Celebrations - Genius Hour Celebrations. I hope we can add more here soon!
